Admissions Arrangements
The maximum number of children admitted into each year group is 30 children. This is often referred to as the published admission number.
Admissions to the Reception class will be in the September at the beginning of the school year in which the child will reach his/her 5th birthday.
Starting Primary School Reception in September 2027
School admission applications for children entering primary school (reception class) & secondary school (moving from Year 6 to Year 7) in September 2027 will open on 1st September 2026 via Sefton Council. Please visit Sefton Council Admissions for further details about this process, how to apply for a place and how to make an appeal should you need to.
Summer born children – children with dates of birth on/between 1st April & 31st August
Parents/carers of ‘summer born children’ can, if they wish, make a decision that their child will not start school until the September after their fifth birthday, a full year after they could have first started school.

Starting Primary School for all year groups (during the academic year 2026/27)
Parents may apply to join our school in any year group (excluding the Autism Resourced Provision) by going to the Sefton Council In Year admissions & school transfers page

Our school are unable to give any further information about your application until we are advised of your child's place by Sefton.
Joining the Hudson Nursery - Little Acorns
Hudson Primary process applications to join Little Acorns directly through the school. Children can join Little Acorns from 3 years old and full details about our school and an application pack is available below.
Group tours of our nursery are available at 3.30pm on Mondays and Thursdays throughout term time, please email enquiries@hudsonprimary.co.uk to book your place.
